Ridgefield Modern Transformation
The best way to be energy efficient in today’s world is to work with what you have, and this Ridgefield, CT home renovation is a perfect example of it. A forward-thinking couple approached us with their idea for a super-energy efficient renovation of a home only minutes away from our office, and we just couldn’t say no. The ~6,000 square foot Colonial Revival style home built in 1986 had many additions over the years until it fell into our hands.
This project boasts a sleek modernization of both the exterior and interior of the home with a soft natural palette inspired by the clients’ Nordic style. Its what’s on the insides (of the walls) that count, too. The house was brought to a level of superb energy efficiency and livability with air-source heat pumps, ERVs, airtight design and construction, triple-pane European windows and curtainwall, and electric appliances. The Ridgefield Modern Transformation house boasts almost 1 foot thick of natural insulation products, helping to make this entire home cozy inside (and easy on the wallet) year-round.
