When a pair of lawyers wanted to build a minimalist, energy efficient home to start their family, they found a beautiful location perched atop a granite boulder in Guilford, CT. Building on top of that boulder has presented many challenges, but the reward is a home with both privacy and views . This near-Passive super-insulated home is Net Zero ready and could easily become fully Net Zero with the future installation of roof solar panels. ERVs and air-source heat pumps provide fresh air and climate control. High-efficiency triple pane windows make for a light and bright home while providing expansive views toward Long Island Sound.
