Sometimes I fall in love with buildings that are horribly inefficient, beautiful wastes of resources and absolutely crazy to have been built in the first place.
And I thank god for them!
Does that make me a bad person??
Here are two of my recent favorites:
Grace Farms - New Canaan, CT
Grace Farms is a welcoming place, where a building designed by SANAA is seamlessly integrated into 80 acres of open space for people to experience nature, encounter the arts, pursue justice, foster community, and explore faith. The property and it's many cultural, educational, and spiritual resources are open to the public at no charge.
Dior's Korean flagship store
Christian de Portzamparc designed this flagship store for Dior in Seoul's Cheongdam-dong district. The designer explains that he wanted "the surfaces to flow, like the couturier’s soft, woven white cotton fabric."
