That being said, we as a family share this vision. She is down to earth, has great taste, great ideas and will go out of her way to help you achieve something more 'green' within your budget. She is knowledgeable about materials, and is very thoughtful about these choices in order to keep working with more ethical materials. I believe her approach should be the norm nowadays! Designed for a couple with a young family who wanted to make the most of this small house, we created plenty of open floor space and lots of natural light while also making the house energy efficient. We accomplished this by placing floor-to-ceiling windows where possible and even adding smaller stair space triangular windows. Working within the existing envelope, including existing siding that had to remain, we re-insulated the house from the inside. The final result is a well-performing, energy-efficient house that feels a lot bigger, brighter, and happier without breaking the bank.
